If our yesterday's card which opened the project "Homemade Cards and Gifts – Unique Ideas Every Day!” was totally created by adults (our little daughter's input was the colouring of baking paper), today's card has been fully made by children! They made it at one of the meetings of the children’s art-group.
Homemade Cards – Crafts with Kids
The main idea of this card is the uncommonness of the materials which were used. Or, to be more exact, this tender card has become a result of combining quite usual things.
What will you need?
- semolina mixed with some sweet spice of red colour;
- white paper like the one for watercolours;
- paper of some red colour – the background of the card;
- red (and yellow) napkins;
- glue, scissors, a pencil and a ruler.
The heart is made from semolina mixed with kum-kum (Indian clay) but you can also take some red spice instead of kum-kum. The mixture is poured onto the glue placed on the white paper.
Then the children glued red paper to the white one (I found some rose paper with a speckled pattern in my archives and I think it is also a good idea to look for some "interesting" paper in flower stores).
The decoration of the heart: our kids tore off pieces from napkins, crumpled them and glued to the rose paper at the edge of the heart.
The back of the card: the heart cut out from the rose paper .
Homemade Gifts
What to present with such a card? Of course, your love and care. And also a cup of aromatic tea personifying the warmth coming from your heart! You just need to decorate everything nicely:
Here is what you'll need to decorate the tea-bags:
There can be some tea of red colour in the tea-bags.
